Fangirl Friday: Sydney Sage + an interview with Daisy Masterman!

It's Fangirl Friday and this week, I'm featuring my first ever female character from Richelle Mead's Bloodlines Series:

Sydney Sage!

Synopsis:

Blood doesn't lie...
Sydney is an alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of human and vampires. They protect vampire secrets - and human lives. When Sydney is torn from her bed in the middle of the night, at first she thinks she's still being punished for her complicated alliance with dhampir Rose Hathaway. But what unfolds is far worse. Jill Dragomir - the sister of Moroi Queen Lissa Dragomir - is in mortal danger, and the Moroi must send her into hiding. To avoid a civil war, Sydney is called upon to act as Jill's guardian and protector, posing as her roommate in the last place anyone would think to look for vampire royalty - a human boarding school in Palm Springs, California. But instead of finding safety at Amberwood Prep, Sydney discovers the drama is only just beginning...

There are currently 4 BOOKS in the Bloodlines series: Bloodlines, The Golden Lily, Indigo Spell, and the Fiery Heart (which is out right now). I have YET to read TFH (broke girl problems, ya know?), and NONE of my libraries are update. So I have to wait till after Christmas to R&R...

But anways, that doesn't mean I can't feature Sydney on Fangirl Friday!

All About the Alchemist:

Sydney Sage is an 18 year old Alchemist (that's a person dedicated to hiding vampires from the human world) when she's first introduced in the fourth book of the Vampire Academy series, Blood Promise. She's cold, distant, and has an unbelievably remarkable talent for being right and having amazing comebacks, but after a little while, we get to see her much friendlier side- but that doesn't mean she stops with the on-going comebacks and being 'smart' thing.

We learn that the Alchemist's prejudice and hard-core teaching methods are the reason behind her cold, disconnected exterior and fear with vampires and dhampirs.

She starts warming up when she spends time with Rose and Dimitri, but finally becomes at ease (or at least learns to be) in California, where she is forced to live with Jill, Eddie, Angeline, and the swoony and post-break up Adrian.

She comes a long way from Vampire Academy to the Fiery Heart: she goes from the girl having to have Rose Hathaway defend her from Strigoi in Russia to a badass magic wielding girl in California, who also happens to be in love with a vampire. A huge step up from her first apperance.

Facts:

  • Born Sydney Katherine Sage to alchemist Jared Sage and his wife, Deborah

  • Grew up in Utah with two sisters, Carly (older, College Student), and Zoe (younger, alchemist-in-training). They also have a family cat.

  • Her mom taught her about cars at a young age, to the point where she has a car obsession.

  • She is my spirit-animal She has a coffee addiction and knows too much for her own good.
Why is Sydney Fangirl Friday worthy?

Sydney is much more different from Rose's character, and when I first started reading the series, I felt like I was cheating on Rose. But I started to ease into it, and realized (thankfully) that early on, that comparing the two series was stupid. Like Rose says in the VA series "no two relationships are alike", and Rose and Sydney are NOT alike.

When I read Rose's books, I'm drawn to her trying to figure out what's wrong and what's right, and when it's time to grow up. I connect with her because I'm trying to figure that out as well.

With Sydney...she's me. Literally. Except I don't have a vampire BF, I have no magical powers and I suck at math. But Sydney's perfect in every sense, and everyone pretty much views her that way. I've been told MANY times that I'm viewd the same way: in control, intelligent, intimedating. In reality I'm not, and I'm as socially awkward as Sydney (well, not exactly, but I'm still a little awkward). I'm a little up tight as well, and it takes my close friends to bring out that goofy side. :)

Sydney is worthy of Fangirl Friday because she's easy to connect with. She's a human girl- and then some. Sydney is also a person that can stick her own and get what she wants as well; she uses her wits, her smarts and her self-determination.

And, if that isn't enough to make you love her, she can also wield magic. Yeah. She can totally burn vampires :)

WHEW! So that was my part of Fangirl Friday! In addition to sharing my thoughts on Sydney Sage and why she's totally worth fangirling over, here's my interview with the actress that portray's Sydney herself in the book trailers:
Daisy Masterman!

About Daisy:

Daisy Masterman, born 6 April 1990, is an Australian actress who grew up in Melbourne, Victoria. During her schooling years Daisy was involved in school plays and took drama lessons as a hobby, but it was only after she graduated from high school in 2008 that she decided to start pursuing acting further. Having signed with Triple Talent Management she has gone on to appear in many commercials for brands such as Tetley and Cadbury. Along with acting Daisy loves figure skating and has appeared on The Today Show and The David and Kim Show as an exhibitionist skater. Her most recent notable role was for a book trailer for a sequel off series of the well known Vampire Academy novels. Daisy plays the lead role, Sydney Sage in Bloodlines.
Daisy has just finished working on a feature film called Murderdrome which is a comical slasher film that she had to learn to roller skate and play roller derby for. Her character goes against type as she plays the antagonist's bitchy side kick. The film is currently in post production and is set for release in 2013.

Follow her on Twitter: @daisymasterman and on Facebook :D

1) Hello Daisy, and welcome to The Lovely Grace! I'm so happy to have you here! For all those who don't know it, you're an actress and a model, but do you have an special talents that no one know about?

Hmm secret special talents... Well, I find it comes in handy about zero percent of the time but I can click my tongue really loudly. Or one of my friends recently taught me how to hand whistle. It took me ages to work out how to do it so I was pretty excited when I finally got it!
2) You portray Sydney Sage in the Bloodlines trailers, and what has that experience been like for you?

I love Sydney and the entire Bloodlines series so it's been such an honor to be able to represent her and be involved in the trailers. It's difficult trying to portray a book character to people because everyone creates their own interpretation of things in their imagination and bringing that to life is a real challenge but it's one I've definitely enjoyed. I've discovered (similarly to Sydney) that I can't try to please everyone, and all I can do is work hard and give it my best.
3) Do you find it a bit surreal that the international Vampire Academy and Bloodlines community have been taking so much notice in you, Nick and the trailers, and give as much love and hype for it as the movie trailers?

Totally surreal. I never expected to get such a response from people, and particularly one that's worldwide! It's great that there's such a passionate community out there from the readers and it's really flattering people have given us as much support as they have.
4) What's your favourite thing about Sydney? What's your least favourite thing about her?

My favourite thing about Sydney is probably her intelligence. I love how she goes with what she believes in regardless of what she's been taught or told. I think that's really strong of her and is something to be admired. My least favorite thing is that she is sometimes a bit too serious or uptight... But I kind of still love that about her! It's part of her charm.
5) What's something that you would tell Sydney if you were ever written in as a character?

I'd probably try to get her to loosen up a bit more and make some mischief!
6) I'm going to ask a question that every girl wants to know: Is Nick a good kisser? ;)

He's a real life Adrian Ivashkov, everything he says or does is exactly like what you would expect Adrian to do. He's so perfectly cast for this role.

...I dodged the question a little there but take from it what you will :P haha.
7) Switching gears for a moment: have you seen the Blood Sister's trailer yet and are you excited for the movie!

I have seen it and yes! I'm super excited. I think it looks awesome and I cannot wait to go see it.
8) If you had the choice to choose one actor from the movie to film a scene with for the trailer or just act alongside with in any production, who would you choose?

They have such a great cast on board for the movie I would be lucky to work with any one of them!
9) Are you filming/ have any productions going on at the moment? If so, do you think your character will beat Sydney in a trivia game?

Murderdrome had its premiere on the 22nd of November, it's been a long time in the making so it was great to see how it turned out. And I just finished a stage production of Louis Nowra's play 'The Golden Age' where I played Betsheb.
My character in Murderdrome is a blonde, ditzy roller derby girl and Betsheb is a wild-ling so I have a feeling Sydney would definitely beat both of them in a trivia game. Sydney is like a walking Wikipedia, she'd be some tough competition!!!
And 10) What do you think makes Sydney Sage fangirl Friday worthy?
She's Sydney Sage!

THIS OR THAT? SPEED QUESTIONS!

Coffee or Tea?
Tea! Specifically peppermint.
Book or e-book?
Nothing beats a good old fashioned paperback novel.
Stage or film production?
Both.
Sweetish Berries or Chocolate?
Chocolate. Junk food ftw :P
Figure Skating or Acting?
Acting.
Dimitri Belikov or Adrian Ivashkov? ;)
Adrian. For sure!
That's it for Fangirl Friday! Have an amazing Friday, and Happy Thanksgiving to my US peeps, and Happy Hanukkah to those that are celebrating it!
AND THANK YOU SO MUCH to Daisy for taking the time out of her busy schedule to do this interview! I really appreciate it!

Fangirl Friday: Special Announcement!

Hey guys, I hope you're having an awesome Tuesday!

So this week for Fangirl Friday, I'm featuring the actress/model, Daisy Masterman!

All of you who are familiar with Vampire Academy and have followed the series to Bloodlines all know that Daisy portrays our bookish, yet witty alchemist Sydney Sage in the Bloodlines book trailers!

I've hinted on both my twitter accounts (@missyallydums97 & @VACanadaNews) that I would be interviewing an actress! :) this is a cool surprise, isn't it?

Daisy was kind enough to answer some questions for me and be featured for this week!

What is Fangirl Friday? Fangirl Friday is a post I do on Fridays where I Fangirl over books, and (usually) over male characters in books. This week I'm fangirling over Sydney, my first female on the feature.

There will be NO Fiery Heart related questions because I know some people haven't read it yet (like me, for example).

For international fans, the interview will be posted at approximately 6-7pm EST- I'll have more information as the week progresses!

Have a happy Tuesday guys!

Fangirl Friday: William Lacey

It's Fangirl Friday! And this week, I'm featuring William Lacey from the Lacey Chronicles.

I was supposed to feature him last week in honor of Eve Edwards's guest post, but I made a mistake while making the post, and it was scheduled for THIS WEDNESDAY. Fortunately enough, I caught it before then, but now I had to put Will for this week than last week.

So here he is: Lord William Lacey, Earl of Dorset!

Isn't he dreamy? That's model George Elliot up there (he's what I pictured Will to look like). :)

Here are some fun facts about Will:

-He's the eldest of four (two brothers, one little sister).
-He is blonde and has a face of an angel (described by Ellie).
-He is from the Elizabethan period, and is an avid jouster (is that how you spell that?).
-Despite the fact he's an Earl, he helps his villagers to keep the village looking proper.
-He's only eighteen.

William Lacey is the eldest Lacey brother- and the heir of the Lacey title and financial ruin. When we first meet him in the Other Countess, he is a young boy whom just received his father's title. He kicks Arthur Hutton (his father's resident alchemist and money leech), and his daughter, Ellie Hutton, whom he (by default) resents as well.

Years later, Ellie and Will meet again- him as an Earl about to be married to a noblewoman, and her as a penniless girl with a worthless Spanish title being dragged around the country by her father's experiments. They don't recognize eachother and try to be friends, but as her secret comes, everything comes falling apart. As his marriage to Lady Jane approaches, she reappears in his life again, and his attraction to her is undeniable. Will is then left with a choice: marry a proper lady to save his family from financial ruin or follow his heart's desire.

So what makes Will worthy of this week's Fangirl Friday?

He'll do anything to make sure his family has a roof under his head, even if it means sacrificing his happiness. But in the end, Will will do everything in his power to get everyone (including himself) what they really deserve!

Happy Friday guys!

Fangirl Friday: Ryan Mendez

Today is Fangirl Friday! And today, we're fangirling over the amazing Ryan Mendez from the Dead Is series by Marlene Perez!

(Douglas Booth as Ryan Mendez)

Isn't he just dreamy?

The first (five-ish books) of the Dead Is series revolves around Daisy Giordano, the youngest daughter of the Giordano clan- a family of psychics. However, she isn't psychic (or is she...?). Daisy learns how to stand out from her family using her super sleuthing skills to solve crimes in her sleepy beach town of Nightshade, California alongside her long time best-friend Ryan Mendez. Together, they uncover the shocking secret her little town is hiding and uncover the truth about what really happened to Daisy's missing father.

The series is currently on it's third spin-off series book (Dead Is Just A Dream), which revolves around Ryan's best friend's (Sean Walsh, whom is featured in the first half of the series) little sister, Jessica. He doesn't play much of a big role with Jess's story, but you do get glimpses of him!

I love Ryan! He is just...PERFECT! (Although he gets a little hairy later during the second book). Personality and feature wise!

•He is 16 in the beginning of the series
•He has lived in Nightshade all his life
•He is best friends with Daisy Giordano and Sean Walsh
•His dad is the Nightshade chief of police and his mother lives in San Francisco with her boyfriend. He also has some cousins living in San Carlos, California.
•He is a football player
•He once had a crush on Samantha Devereaux, Daisy's former ex-best friend
•He has curly dark hair, tan skin, and green eyes
•He is highly intelligent and a loyal friend
•He and his dad have a connection to some of the shady things going on in Nightshade...

So what makes Ryan Mendez worthy of today's Fangirl Friday? Well, as you can see, he is the definition of a small-town boy, from the close relationship he has with his dad to being well known in the community as the police chief's son, the all-star athlete and just being...Ryan.

He is very involved in the series, and helps Daisy out when she is solving mysteries in their town. He is supportive, he is loyal, he is protective, and he is willing to break into a morgue if you ask him to!

What I love the most is that he is Daisy's rock throughout the series (yes, even when he turns into a werewolf). He has been there for her since they were kids, he was there with her when her dad 'disappeared', he was there when she had no one and felt like an outsider, and he was there for her even when he wasn't supposed to be.

Ryan is that type of guy that can do something bad, but you'll forgive him for it, because he will do everything in power to right his wrongs. He's that guy that's worth fighting for, which is why he is this weeks Fangirl Friday!

Favourite Quote: "Ryan you scared the heck out of me!" I said.

"Who else would be grabbing you? He said. "Is there something you want to tell me?"

"Of course not," I said. "I just wasn't expecting it." (Dead Is A State of Mind)

Favourite Scene: When Daisy calls Ryan in Dead Is The New Black and asks him to meet her, Ryan gets a little taken aback, then she tells him they're going to the morgue. But he doesn't say no.

Favourite Quality: His protectiveness over Daisy! GAHH! It's to die for! Especially in Dead Is Just A Rumour when Ms. Trey was about to kill Daisy, but Ryan saved the day!

Oh! And did you guys know that the awesome Lisa M. Forester is going to be featured on tomorrow's Saturday Spotlight?

Have a great Friday night guys!

Fangirl Friday: Luca da Peraga

It's Fangirl Friday! And, in honor of Paula Stokes being featured in tomorrow's Saturday Spotlight, I decided to feature another one of her beautiful boys from her YA Historical series, Secrets of the Eternal Rose (note: she writes the series under the name Fiona Paul). Last time, I featured the gorgeous Michael Fjordbak as His Royal Hotness, the King of Mysterious Goodlooks, Falco da Padova! (here):

So from badboy hottie to the bookish nerd, let me introduce you to the beautiful, intelligent, and the definition of a Renaissance gentlemen, Luca da Peraga!
No...not that Luca.

Love you too, but BYE Luca. I have to introduce the other Luca! *waves away*
Matt Kane as Luca da Peraga

CIAO, SIGNOR PERAGA!

So Luca da Peraga is one of the love interests of Cass Caravello in the Secrets of the Eternal Rose trilogy! (In fact, he is her fiance!).

The series revolves around a 15 year old noblewoman named Cass, who craves adventure. She (unexpectedly) finds it when she stumbles upon a dead body of a mutilated woman in her best friend's grave. Cass teams up with residential badboy, Falco da Padova, to find the murderer and her best friend's body. While Cass is out at night, dressing up to infiltrate parties and break into houses, and oh, getting to know the body the mysterious boy with the bright blue eyes, her mind can't help but wander back to her beloved Luca studying law in France to give her a good life.

Sure, she's having fun. Sure, she's had more life experience in the days after her friend's funeral than she did since her parents died five years before. But Luca has always been there for her, and without him, Cass knows that all final pieces of a normal and safe life will disappear.

Right now, the series is on it's second book, Belladonna, and it has left Luca and Cass's relationship on much stable ground than Falco and Cass at the moment. But Luca has his own secrets and plans too. So the question is, will Cass chose comfort over being free?

Anyways, enough with the dark and gloomy stuff! Let's get to know more of Mr. Proper himself!
  • He is 19 years old (making him four years older than Cass and three years older than Falco. it was the 1500s guys, it wasn't uncommon for women in their late teens to marry men in their mid to late forties- or something like that).
  • He's tall, he has brown eyes and blond hair
  • He studies law in France (fancy, huh?)
  • His father and his younger sister, Diana, are both dead
  • He has known Cass since childhood
  • He's related to some pretty crazy people
So what makes Luca worthy of this week's Fangirl Friday?

Well, I love him as a character because he brings out the girly side of Cass- she's nervous around him, is worried about her looks etc. With Falco, she taps into her feminine side as well, but both have walls and a lot of very strong opinions that either work or clash. She is perfect with Falco, but she is perfect with Luca.

But what I love the MOST about Luca is that, well... Luca isn't all that he seems to be!

Other than him being reliable and patient, kind and intelligent, Luca isn't all fun and games. If he's really mad, he won't care to unleash his temper on you. He has family members that can be classifed as insane. And, OH! And if you dare try to harm his fiancee, Cass, it is war.
In other words? Luca, along with being good-looking and smart, he is also very badass!

Falco has that fierce, protective side too, but I like seeing it on Luca more because 99.999999999999% of the time he is described by Cass as gentlemen of the year; even Marco (Cass's best friend's husband) speaks of Luca like he is the image of goodness and properness while discussing his sentence with Signor Rambaldo in Belladonna! It's weird seeing him lose his temper and fighting off crazy people to save Cass, but at the same time, its just..works!

Favourite Quote:

Luca's smile wavered for a moment. He stretched out his long legs and crossed them at the ankles. "No matter. I'm here now. Just in time to protect you." (Venom)

Favourite Scene:

When Luca saves Cass from Cristian in Venom!

Favourite Quality:

His kindness and thoughtfulness with his engagment with Cass. She is his top priority, and even asks her if she is ready to get married- he doesn't push her!

So that's it for me for Fangirl Friday! Come back tomorrow to see my interview with the real Fiona Paul, Ms. Paula Stokes!

AND if you want to know more about Luca, Cass and Falco, check out this Venn Diagram/ character sketch I found at the Paper Lantern Lit blog here!

Fangirl Friday: Jost Bell

I haven't done a Fangirl Friday in a really long time! Wow! Today we Fangirl over Jost Bell from one of my new favourite books, Crewel.

Unfortunately, unlike my other Fangirl Friday post, I can't go into much detail since I don't own a copy of the book (I borrowed it from the library). I'm still trying to convince my mom to take me book shopping, so bare with me!

Jost Bell is a main character from Crewel World series which currently consists of, well, Crewel and Altered (to be released on October 29th, 2013).

The series revolves around Adelice Lewys, a sixteen year old girl living in a world (literally) above ours called Arras. In her world, girls go through an intensive month of tests to see if they have any special abilities to be an Eligible. In her world, Eligibles have the possibility of living a luxurious life as a Spinster, someone that can weave matter to help sustain Arras's existance. Adelice, however, is neither: yes, she can bend time and space but she can do it without having to use a loom-she can just reach out and manipulate her surroundings. She isn't an Eligible Spinster. She is the next Creweler, the person who (literally) keeps the world of Arras from falling appart at the seams (no pun intended).

But the world of the Spinsters isn't as glamorous as the media or the Guild (that's the government in Arras) made it out to be: it's a world full of vicious, competitive, power-hungry and vain women. To help weave her way through the 'privileged', dangerous and secretive world of the Spinsters (again, no pun intended), Adelice allies herself with her mentor Enora, the dutiful assisstant of Maela, Erick, and of course the mysterious servant, Jost Bell.

Together, with Jost and the others, Adelice will find herself in the middle of a conspiracy that will alter (okay, pun intended) her life and the lives of those she loves.

The sequel to Crewel will be released later this month (I'll be doing a Waiting on Wednesday dedicated to Altered, featuring a lot of crazy theories and ideas. And fangirling. Lots and lots of fangirling), and right now, the story and the characters are hanging on a thread.

Although Crewel left us with a very open ending that will lead into a lot of action packed moments in Altered, one thing is for certain: Jost Bell is only going to make the story much more complicated (and hotter).
Chris Mason as Jost Bell
So here are a some facts about Jost Bell:
  • He is nineteen years old
  • He has shoulder length, wavy dark hair
  • He has blue eyes
  • He is muscular
  • He is from Sussex, South Sector, Arras
What makes Jost worthy of this week's Fangirl Friday? Other than be insanely good-looking and the nicest person (other than Enora) in the book, Jost is his own person. I mean, he works; he doesn't drink, he doesn't kill. He makes a modest living as the head valet/the head of all servants in the Coventry (that's where all the Spinsters live; it's like a palace you can never leave), and he's a good man ready to help those that are loyal and kind-hearted.

I totally ship Adelice and Jost. I like Erick, because he can just banter with Adelice easily, but Jost is the guys for me Adelice. It's too early in the series to see who she'll chose (especially with the way things ended in Crewel) and we haven't really seen much in the romance department for Adelice or any of the guys since they were too busy, you know, trying to survive.

But here's the thing that makes Jost so fangirl worthy/ amazing/ perfect for Adelice: he doesn't care for his own feelings, he cares about how others around him feels. He doesn't care about safety, he cares about the safety of those he loves. And overall, he doesn't live for himself, he lives for those that are important to him.

That's it for Fangirl Friday, and I hope I've persuaded you enough to pick up Crewel! It's really worth the read!

Fangirl Friday: Falco da Padova from The Secrets of Eternal Rose Series

Last week, I was lucky to get a reply from actor/dancer Nate Shaw who was willing to do an impromptu interview with me on twitter, but alas, my luck has run out and unfortunately I wasn't able to get a reply from anyone! (Conor Maynard, Dominic Sherwood, Ed Holcroft, and Michael Fjordbak, I'm looking at you!).

Falco da Padova (portrayed in the book trailer)
Instead, I decided to feature Falco da Padova, a character from one of my new favourite YA Historical Trilogy, Secrets of the Eternal Rose! The trilogy currently consists of Venom and Belladonna, with the final book Starling coming out on March 20th, 2014.

The series revolves around Cassandra 'Cass' Caravello, a fifteen year old noble woman from Venice, Italy currently living on a tiny island outside of the famous city- surrounded by a graveyard. Her parents are dead, her fiancĂ© Luca da Peraga is in France studying law, and her best friend Liviana Greco has just died. She meets Falco da Padova, a swoon-worthy artist with a knack for getting into trouble by chance.

Together, they embark in a series of adventures to solve Jack-the-Ripper like crimes while learning more about the real Venice and it's dirty and dark secrets. As the series continues, their relationship changes drastically as Cass seems destined to live her life putting her feelings aside and making decisions based on what's better for everyone else, and Falco is on his way to become a true artist.

The trilogy is currently on it's second book, Belladonna, right now and (without giving any spoilers) has left all the characters walking on a tight rope relationship wise. Although the trilogy is at its climax at the moment, one thing is for sure: Falco is a constant throughout all three books, and spices up the story line by bringing his Italian Renaissance mysterious-ness and hotness!

Michael Fjordbak as Falco da Padova

So here's a bit of info about Mr. Mysterious and Sexy himself, Falco da Padova!
  • He is seventeen years old
  • He has curly brown hair and eyes as blue as the Adriatic
  • He is an artist; he loves to paint and draw
  • He has a scar underneath his right eye
  • He was born outside of Padua, Italy
What makes this fictional character worthy of today's Fangirl Friday? Well, other than his ability of being super hot, he's totally sarcastic and to the point!

He tells it like it is, and if you don't get it, he'll tease you relentlessly! Despite being born in the 1500s and fictional, he is totally down-to-earth and doesn't really think much for the luxurious life. He understands that no matter what social standing your from, there are pros and there are cons!

Falco also has a little bit of a bad boy side: he get's into fist fights, drinks and was once a tomb raider (yeah, he totally gives Laura Croft a run for her money!). But what makes his character so amazing is that all his layers (yes, even that annoying part of him that he keeps guarded) makes him a relatable and likable character (Luca fans, give me a sec here).

Sure, he's a bad boy that's too mysterious for his good; sure, he may pull at the heartstrings of all the women around him; sure, he may be annoying as hell sometimes; and sure, he may not be a stable guy. However all of those flaws make him real character and make him a real person. Cass may be the narrator of the trilogy, but Falco is definitely the heart. He's a guy with a shady past who tries his hardest to make things right. He may not be reliable and stable as Luca, but he is a hero in his own right.

FAVOURITE QUOTE:

"Let me go," she said. "Or I'll scream"
Falco released her. "Please, not that again. My head still hurts from the last time." (Venom)

FAVOURITE SCENE: When Falco and Cass see each other for the first time in Belladonna

FAVOURITE QUALITY: His sarcastic sense of humor. For example, the graveyeard conversation at the beginning of Venom:

"I discovered a dead body." Hearing the words brought back the true gravity of the situation, and panic shot through her all over again. She hugged her arms across her body to keep form trembling.

Falco laughed tersely. He made a sweeping motion with his hand. "Of course you have, my dear. We are literally surrounded by the dead."

Fangirl Friday: Nathan Shaw from Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters

Since the release of the Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters Teaser Trailer, there has been A LOT of press attention going on around on the world (Perez Hilton guys, he's on the bandwagon! Can we talk about how awesome that is?!?). Director Mark Waters, lead actress Zoey Deutch, author Richelle Mead, The Vampire Academy producers on @OfficialVAMovie and actor Dominic Sherwood (*sighs dreamily*) have been answering a lot of questions and giving the world a little insight as to how awesome the movie is, how it won't be like Twilight (which it most definitely won't), and how amazing it was working with one another.

While all of that is exciting and cool, I always wanted to know to how a supporting actor of the film was reacting with all of the hype. Fortunately for me, I got a chance to talk with one of these actors in an impromptu Question and Answer. Ladies and Gentlemen, may I introduce you to my very first Fangirl Friday interview with ..........
Nathan Shaw:

Pretty good looking, eh? Nathan Shaw is a talented actor, dancer and Michael Jackson fan from Wakefield, West Yorkshire. He was born October 9th, 1990, and is (in my opinion) the definition of what hard work, passion and perseverance can get you in life. His first professional job was at 15, playing a younger version of Robson Green on a TV production called 'Northern Lights', before moving to London to kick his career into overdrive. In 2011, he also got a chance to work at  prestigious 'Tokyo Disney Resort' in Japan, playing various roles for 13 months like the Mad Hatter (and even in costume, he's still good looking :D):

Nate as the Mad Hatter.

He will be playing a Dhampir in Blood Sisters, and will be attending the AMDA (American Musical and Dramatic Academy) in the Fall! Here's my interview with Nate! Enjoy!

Thank you once again to Nathan Shaw who took time out of his busy schedule to talk to me! Follow him on twitter: @Nath_Shaw and his cousin @MarcDrye (singer songwriter).

Till next time! :)
